Jessica Bluth Barrymore was the offspring of John Drew Barrymore and his third consort, Nina Rae Wayne Barrymore Wheeler. She was also kin to the esteemed actress Drew Barrymore, being her half-sister by this affiliation. Apart from Drew, Jessica shared her lineage with two other siblings from her father, namely Blyth Dolores Barrymore and John Blyth Barrymore.

As per Facebook and family records, Jessica Barrymore pursued her education at the prestigious Schol of Performing and Creative Arts in San Diego. Having spent her entire life in the city of San Diego, California, she eventually found employment at the PetCo store located there.

Jessica was directly connected to Nina Wayne, her mother, who had graced the silver screen alongside the legendary Jack Lemmon in the romantic comedy movie “Luv.” Nina, a luminary of her time, was wedded to John Drew Barrymore, marking his third matrimonial bond with an actress.

Jessica’s familial relationships were fraught with difficulties, leading her to move in with her surrogate mother, Dorothy Steinbeck, at the tender age of 15. She resided with Dorothy until she turned 18, after which she was compelled to leave the household due to her escalating addiction to methamphetamine at Dorothy’s behest.

According to family sources, Jessica Blyth Barrymore was said to have contended with a battle against alcoholism, self-esteem issues from an early age, methamphetamine addiction, a penchant for energy drinks, and mental stability challenges arising from her weight issues. Furthermore, there were speculations about Jessica’s troubled rapport with her father, John Barrymore, and her half-sister Drew Barrymore.

Digging remarks made by her sister Drew about Jessica’s weight, coupled with her father John’s constant reminders of her weight, only exacerbated her underlying self-esteem struggles. It is reported that an early encounter with this hurtful remark occurred when John showed a picture of Jessica to Drew, and she exclaimed, “how can someone so corpulent be my sister?”. This incident left an indelible scar on Jessica’s tender psyche.

After enduring years of grappling with body image, self-esteem, and substance abuse issues, Jessica was tragically found dead due to a drug and alcohol overdose, an apparent suicide. At the age of 48, just a few days before her birthday, Jessica Blyth Barrymore was discovered unconscious behind the wheel of her vehicle on July 29, 2014, a Tuesday, in California, United States.

Jessica was found in a somber repose, cradled by death, at 6 am in the morning, as the residents of Hoover Avenue, 900 Block, were departing for their daily endeavors. Her car obstructed a resident’s vehicle, prompting a call to the authorities. Upon investigation, the police pronounced her deceased, surrounded by numerous white pills on the passenger seat, along with alcohol bottles and an energy drink nestled between her legs.
